We found 20 birthday specials that are available countrywide including free meals, shopping vouchers, exclusive discounts, movie tickets and special birthday experiences!
Actually, we thought we had found a lot more, but a surprising number turned out to be fake or expired. At PensionersPayLess!, we don’t believe in wasting people’s time, so we’ve only included the deals that we’ve verified are still valid in 2025.

The only challenge? You likely won’t be able to enjoy them all in one day. But don’t fret – some of these birthday rewards are valid throughout your birthday month!
💡 Top tip – Remember to take your ID or passport because these deals are for South African citizens or permanent residents only! Some require that you register or book beforehand, so take a few minutes to check the details and plan ahead.
We'll cover local, city-specific offers (specially from the Western Cape and Gauteng) in separate articles.

Plan your free birthday itinerary
With the right combination of deals, you can create a full day of free birthday fun.
Here’s what I would do:
Start my day with a free coffee from Starbucks
Head to the mall for discounted retail therapy at Sorbet
Take a mid-morning break to revive my spirits with a free slice of cake at Mugg & Bean
Then head to the movies to enjoy my free movie at Ster Kinekor
Use my discount voucher to pay for my dinner at Cape Town Fish Market – the rest of the family can pay for themselves – it is my birthday afterall 😉
And if I’m feeling generous I might cash in the 2 for 1 special at Krispy Kreme and pick up a double batch of doughnuts🍩to cheer up members of the book club the next day!
All the best
