If you're here checking out pensioner discounts or reading our weekly newsletter, it’s only fair we introduce ourselves properly.
This whole thing started back in the autumn of 2025. My sister and I – both in our mid to late 40s – noticed how our 76-year-old mom and her very active group of friends were making the absolute most of life, thanks to all the free and discounted perks available for folks over 55. (Mom’s currently on a mission to paraglide in Sea Point before her 80th birthday, if that gives you an idea of her energy levels!)
What we noticed, though, is that a lot of these great deals only get shared by word of mouth. And while there are some lovely websites and Facebook groups doing their bit, there didn’t seem to be a single, easy-to-use place where locals could find pensioner discounts all in one spot.
So we decided to build one. Between the two of us, we’ve combined our skills to bring you this website and a newsletter where we share the latest deals in your area – plus helpful and interesting articles from experts we trust.

A little more about us
We grew up with a dad who was always starting something new – he was a true entrepreneur. He passed away a few years ago, but we know he’d be cheering us on with this project.
We spent most of our childhood in Namaqualand and the Karoo, where we learned to love good quality meat, vast open spaces and the value of shared humanity.
These days, I live near the tip of the Cape Peninsula with my husband and our 8-year-old daughter – and Grandma is just ten minutes up the road. My sister, meanwhile, is a digital nomad who runs her business (and this website!) from whichever beach is closest to the equator.
We hope this website and our newsletter help make your days fuller and a little more fun.

A win for local businesses too
But here's the thing – this website isn’t just meant for pensioners. It’s here to help local businesses too.
By listing their specials on our site, businesses get the chance to highlight their offers in one central place – where people are actively looking for them. And while offering discounts may seem purely altruistic, it can actually be a smart move for the bottom line.
Why? Because pensioners are often more flexible with their time. They can shop or dine during quieter weekday hours when foot traffic is low. That makes them an ideal group to target if you’re trying to fill those slower times. Plus, pensioners don’t always shop alone – if they love a deal, chances are they’ll bring their family or friends along too. One happy customer can easily turn into a whole group.
And let’s not forget the positive reputation that comes with being seen as a business that supports older members of the community. People talk – and goodwill like that tends to spread.
So yes, we built this for the pensioners we love. But we also built it for the coffee shops, hairdressers, fitness studios, and local stores we believe in. It really can be a win-win.
