Metrorail pensioners’ discount

Metrorail offers a 50% discount for South African senior citizens aged 60 and over.

The discount applies only between 09h00 and 14h00, so plan your trip accordingly.

Tickets must be purchased at ticket offices – and only during those same hours.

Don’t forget to bring your ID document – it’s required to qualify for the pensioner fare.

Full ticket prices apply during peak hours, outside of the concession window.
