Cats of Durban helps pensioners sterilise stray and feral cats at a discounted rate

Cats of Durban is a feral and stray cat sterilisation project that offers discounted sterilisation rates to pensioners and those who are not working.

• The discount applies to stray and feral cats only — not pet cats.

• To access the discounted rate, email admin@catsofdurban.co.za to request a reference number. You'll receive an automated reply asking a few questions — simply respond and your reference number will be issued.

• Use your reference number to book directly with your preferred participating vet in Durban and pay the vet directly when you bring the cat in.

• Cats must be at least five months old to be sterilised.

• The vet will clip the cat's ear to identify it as a stray — let Cats of Durban know upfront if you'd prefer this not to happen, and they will consider your request.

• Members of Cats of Durban also have access to discounted cat food through their feeder sub-committee — contact them to find out more about membership.
